Methodology

Prices are collected automatically from publicly available retailer data (product listings and weekly offer feeds), once per day per store.

Products are matched across countries deterministically: first by EAN/GTIN barcode, then by normalized brand, name and package size. Every price on this site can be traced to its public source.

Where a store publishes structured data, we read it directly - no interpretation involved. Where a store publishes only leaflet images, prices are read from the leaflet with AI assistance, validated automatically, clearly marked as "read from the brochure", and always linked to the leaflet page so you can check them yourself.

Prices are stored in the store's local currency. Conversions use the European Central Bank's daily reference rates and are always shown next to the original local price, never instead of it.

Unit prices (per kg, per liter, per piece) are derived from the package size so different package sizes stay comparable.
